Windsor, CT – September 17, 2014 – Bloomy Controls, Inc. (Bloomy)  has been named an Embedded Control Specialty Alliance Partner by National Instruments (NI). The company received this designation for its specialized skills in LabVIEW Real-Time and FPGA modules, embedded control and monitoring applications, and design of deterministic closed-loop control applications. Bloomy’s experience spans the full breadth of embedded systems, consisting of demonstrated success with the following NI hardware platforms:

  • NI CompactRIO
  • NI Single-Board RIO
  • NI System on Module
  • NI PXI RT
  • NI FlexRIO
  • NI R-Series
  • Custom and commercial C-Series module design
  • Embedded Vision System, FieldPoint

Bloomy has leveraged this capability to create its own commercial products, including the Battery Simulator 1200 and the MIL-STD 1553 C-Series Module. The Battery Simulator 1200 is a Single-Board RIO-based programmable instrument capable of safely and efficiently simulating a broad range of battery pack and cell conditions. The MIL-STD 1553 C-Series Module supplies MIL-STD-1553B communication functionality in a rugged CompactRIO form factor.

In addition, Bloomy has demonstrated its expertise with embedded IP software through applications such as LVDT measurement and simulation, 3-phase power monitoring and control, and battery simulation. Moreover, Bloomy has developed a broad range of embedded control applications, including embedded machine control, military research and development, power grid asset monitoring and control, hardware-in-the-loop testing, manufacturing process control, as well as programmable instrumentation.

“NI selected Bloomy for the Embedded Control Specialty based on their excellence with NI LabVIEW software and the LabVIEW Real-Time and FPGA modules, as well as a proven track-record with embedded control monitoring applications and NI hardware,” states Jamie Smith, Director of Embedded Systems Product Marketing at NI.

“With our electronic design and embedded control capabilities, we can provide our customers with a complete embedded control solution that scales from a desktop prototype based on cRIO or PXI hardware to production units using a compact System On Module solution while maintaining the same LabVIEW code base,” says Robert Cornwell, Bloomy's Vice President of Operations.
