Lead Electronics Systems Assembly Technician – Aerospace Automated Test Equipment - CT

Windsor, CT


Perform high-quality, electro-mechanical manufacturing and assembly of automated test equipment (ATE). Support the company’s mission to provide test and measurement solutions that exemplify the world’s best professional practices, produced by a world-class team.


  • Associate’s degree in electrical engineering technology
  • 10 years of electro-mechanical assembly experience, including a minimum of 5 years of electrical systems layout and assembly experience using 19-inch equipment racks and associated equipment
  • Experience assembling automated test equipment for aerospace electronics and LRUs a big plus
  • Ability to read, interpret and redline drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Ability to perform point-to-point wiring, as well as perform surface mount soldering of PCBAs
  • J-STD-001, IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620 certifications
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work in a team environment


  • Lead the assembly of automated test and data acquisition systems, test fixtures, cables, harnesses, and PCB assemblies
  • Perform logical layout, design and construction of electrical shelves and panels
  • Supervise and mentor junior electrical technicians
  • Review documentation with engineers for completeness and conformity, help ensure manufacturing readiness
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify, define, and solve problems before, during and after assembly
  • Recommend and help track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Promote best practices
  • Follow and maintain company documentation standards and procedures
  • Test completed assemblies to ensure proper operation
  • Provide accurate technician assembly hours labor estimates
  • Maintain the following certifications: J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620
  • Follow, maintain and improve company quality processes
  • Maintain inventory, organization and maintenance of company tools and job materials
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment
  • Occasionally travel to company and customer sites primarily within the northeast US
  • Occasionally assist with shipping, receiving, and facility maintenance


Company headquarters in Windsor, CT with travel to company development centers within the northeast US; as well as occasional travel to customer sites throughout the United States.
