Most motion stage manufacturers bundle conductors into a single high-density cable and connector. To connect a motion stage to the MID-76xx motor drive requires creating a custom wiring harness, fanning out individual wires or pairs to the respective screw terminals on the motor drive. Such a wiring scheme is difficult to fabricate, tedious to debug, and vulnerable to cable strain and vibration.

The MID Drive Interface houses the MID-76xx motor drive in a standard 19” rack-mount chassis. All required interconnections are pre-wired internally and terminated to a single connector (per axis) on the chassis rear panel. Grounding and shielding connections are supplied, as well as pull-up resistors for open collector transistor type limit switches. The user needs only to plug the motion stage cable into the chassis connector and the MID Drive Interface is ready to operate.
