50th Battery Simulator 1200 Ships

Friday, January 8, 2016

Bloomy is pleased to announce the shipment of its 50th Battery Simulator 1200 unit marking the end of 2015. The product was introduced in 2013 to provide battery, xEV, and grid storage companies with a safe and efficient means of testing a battery management system (BMS).

The Battery Simulator 1200 is a commercial off-the-shelf instrument that provides 12 independently-programmable cells that sink and source current. The unit simulates common faults such as imbalance, overvoltage and overcurrent conditions, without the hazards of real batteries. It is the fundamental building block of many turnkey test systems, including Bloomy’s own BMS HIL, validation, and end-of-line manufacturing test platforms. The Battery Simulator 1200 is CE and FCC certified, and has been sold to customers in North America, Europe, and Asia.

John Corman, VP of Engineering & Product Management at Nuvation Engineering is one of the instrument’s original and long-time users. “The Bloomy Battery Simulator 1200 has proven to be a very useful and valuable tool that we use for the ongoing development and test of our Nuvation BMS™ Battery Management System” Corman says.
