Army-tested, field-proven portable system for analyzing the power consumed by Soldier-worn and mobile electronics is now available through standard government supply channels.

South Windsor, CT– Bloomy Controls, Inc. (BLOOMY®), a leading provider of automated test solutions for mission-critical and emerging applications, today announces that the eSoldier™ Power Monitoring System has been assigned National Stock Numbers by the United States Defense Logistics Agency. This designation integrates the eSoldier system into the Federal Supply System, streamlining procurement for the U.S. Department of Defense, NATO, and allied defense organizations worldwide.

Co-developed with the U.S. Army Development Command Soldier Center (DEVCOM SC), the eSoldier system provides precise, multi-channel monitoring and analysis of the power consumption of Soldier-worn as well as mobile battery-operated electronic devices. Its lightweight, rugged, and distributed sensor architecture allows the Army to collect detailed field power data in real operational environments, enabling insights that were previously difficult or impossible to obtain. As modern missions grow increasingly dependent on the performance of Soldier-worn and mobile electronic systems, these insights allow engineers to evaluate and optimize batteries and equipment to help ensure successful missions.

“The NSN assignment reflects the proven utility, field performance, and versatility of the eSoldier system,” said Peter Blume, President of BLOOMY. “By integrating eSoldier into standard logistics channels, we’re ensuring that all US government and Department of Defense agencies can easily obtain and deploy this essential analysis tool.”

The eSoldier system has been rigorously field-tested by the U.S. Army in multiple applications, including evaluations of the Nett Warrior system, the Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS), exoskeletons, and other emerging Soldier technologies at major military installations across the United States.

Key features and capabilities of the eSoldier system include:

  • Monitoring of multiple channels of voltage, current, temperature, and acceleration
  • High-performance sampling (100 kS/s) and processing algorithms that efficiently capture transients and anomalies in the data
  • Distributed architecture of wired and wireless sensors to reduce cabling
  • Lightweight, ruggedized design that can be easily worn by Soldiers or mounted on vehicles and mobile systems

With the NSN assignment, authorized procurement personnel can now requisition the eSoldier system and its components directly through the Federal Supply System. The system also remains available for commercial purchase by both government and civilian customers from BLOOMY.
