Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) and Systems Integration Lab (SIL) testing are critical techniques for the validation, integration and certification of electric aircraft. BLOOMY has commercial offerings for the simulation and test of autonomous systems, battery, engine, environmental, and flight controls, mission, propulsion, and vehicle management systems, as well as sensors, actuators and avionic buses. In this presentation, BLOOMY provides a brief introduction to HIL/SIL testing as well as an overview of some reference configurations for eVTOL.

Refining Test System Design: Combining Signal Based Test and ATML-Driven Approach to Test System Architecture and Automation
Current approaches to test system architecture often leads to designs that are victim to one of two pitfalls. Either the design is overly complex and expensive, or it fails to cover critical edge cases. Conventional approaches tend to let previous test stand implementations dictate component architectures, hindering innovation.
Real-time HIL test of Vehicle Management Systems for novel and traditional aircraft types
The Vehicle Management System (VMS) Test Platform provides a hardware in-the-loop (HIL) closed-loop test environment for dynamic test of VMSs for electric, fueled, commercial, military, rotary, fixed-wing, piloted and unpiloted types of aircraft.
These are the presentation slides from our conference session explaining the BLOOMY eVTOL Integrated HIL Test System. The slides begin with a brief introduction to hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) validation testing and traditional approaches employed by legacy airframers. The presentation discusses some of the key features, components, and scalability of the integrated HIL test system from BLOOMY, which results in reduced time-to-flight and increased time-in-flight.
Real-time HIL test of flight control systems and energy management for eVTOL aircraft
The eVTOL HIL Test System provides an integrated, closed-loop test environment for dynamic testing of flight control systems and battery management systems for electric aircraft.
Bloomy Custom Device for Alta 1553
Robust, high-speed MIL-STD-1553B communications using NI VeriStand and Alta interface hardware
The Bloomy Custom Device for Alta 1553 interface hardware is the only high-speed, robust MIL-STD-1553B solution available for NI VeriStand on the market today. Since its deployment over six years ago, multinational airframers have relied upon this custom device in their systems integration labs (SILs) for high-fidelity validation testing of line replaceable units (LRUs), avionics and systems.

A Brief Primer on Digital Transformation and its Implications for Test Systems and SILs
The nature of systems and product engineering is changing rapidly with the introduction and application of Digital Transformation and a toolset consisting of Model-Based Systems Engineering, the Digital Thread, and Digital Twin. Each of these tools is briefly introduced and examined, and several characteristics for test systems which are necessary for full digital transformation implementation are derived and enumerated.
