Innovative
measurement and control systems and how they're being put to use in a
variety of applications spanning from R&D through production.
Test System for Innovative Diabetes Treatment Reduces Defects Early in Production Process
Insulet Corporation develops and manufactures medical device systems
that manage insulin for diabetic patients. One of the challenges for
diabetic patients is administering insulin in an easy, painless manner
that ensures the injection of precise amounts of insulin into the
bloodstream. Insulet developed a new insulin injection product called
OmniPod® to help address the market needs. This project required the
development of a turnkey manufacturing test system that would perform
critical connection tests for the OmniPod®.
System Benefits:
- New system identifies failures early in production process
- Testing before final assembly reduces costs
- Real-time trending provides instant visibility into the manufacturing process.
Find
out how Bloomy Controls helped Insulet develop a way to test the
OmniPod® early in the production process in order to reduce defects
downstream.
Best Practices: LabVIEW
Practical
guidelines or "rules" for optimizing every facet of your applications:
ease of use, efficiency, readability, simplicity, performance,
maintainability, and reliability.
The LabVIEW Style Book: Style versus Time Tradeoff
Intense time-to-market pressures encourage fast application development
which appears to be at odds with good programming style. However, it is
important to look at the entire life cycle of the application when
considering development time, including the hours consumed for all
testing, debugging, documentation, revisions, and upgrades. Find out
how good style reduces development time in this excerpt from The LabVIEW Style Book by Peter A. Blume.
